Just because you keep your rabbit in your house does not mean that it is safe there. Remember that your rabbit would need a home, which would be safe from natural predators along with other dangers in the house itself. Here are some tips to keep rabbits safe in your home-
Always cover the cords-
Most rabbits love chewing on cords and electrical wires. These cords should be kept away from the rabbit’s reach and thus you should keep them under the carpet or high in the ceiling. You can add another cover to this cord to ensure that your rabbit does not chew the same.
Keep house plants at elevated positions-
Most houseplants can be poisonous for your rabbits if it chews them regularly. So keep them at higher distances of places where the rabbit cannot chew on them.
Doors and exits should be monitored-
Rabbits roam around the entire house and thus they can easily make an exit through doors or other holes. So try to your doors shut when your rabbit is on the loose and make sure that your pet door is not located in the areas, where your bunny roams around.
Keep litter boxes-
Rabbits love to retreat to a quiet corner for their digestive businesses and so you should try and keep small litter boxes, where they can do their business and not make your house dirty.
Don’t give them too much space-
Allow your rabbit to move around but don’t give them permission to roam around the entire house. They can get underfoot and run out from nowhere and this can be fatal. So try to restrict their moving areas to a couple of rooms for their safety.
Implementing these techniques would ensure that you are able to keep your rabbit safe from such man made hazards.
