Some myths about rabbits

There are so many myths about rabbits that you are not aware of and these can be detrimental for your rabbit’s health and wellbeing. Some of these include-

Any unwanted pet rabbit should be let out in the wild-

This is the biggest mistake that you can make because your pet rabbit would not last for long in the wild. There are plenty of local predators like big birds, cats and dogs, which would kill them. Some rabbits may have these inbred instincts of protection, but they have no clue about safety in the wild. If you cannot keep your pet rabbit anymore then please find them a good home, or as a last resort, hand them to the animal shelter.

Rabbits can be picked by ears-

Remember that rabbit ears are a tool for picking them and this would hurt them terribly. Always pick a rabbit by scooping it up and give it support with both hands. Magician guilds also frown on magicians who pick rabbits by ears, and torment them through the process.

Pet store rabbit treats are good for their health-

Not all forms of brightly colored treats in pet stores are good for your rabbit. Since they have a weak digestive system, this could create serious health problems for them.

Rabbits are quite animals-

Most rabbit owners would be surprised by the amount and range of noises that their pets can make. This varies largely from breed to breed and usually rabbits move from a low buzzing sound to making shrill screams.

Rabbits and cats can be bred for creating Cabbits-

Rabbits and cats are completely different species and there is no theory of a cabbit being there. These cabbits are only found in Japanese Anime cartoons and do not exist for real.
