Take for instance you are a pet rabbit owner. The size of the rabbit may vary. It can be Dutch or Polish dwarf breed that weigh under 4 ½ pounds while there are many large rabbits. However, the fundamental principle of caring remains almost the same. Your first task is to house the rabbit. Go for a nice and appropriate cage for it but be sure that the cage is four times of its size. A rabbit is basically a wild animal and hence it prefers freedom, movement with ease and comfort. The mats can be safely used for chewing. Never go for alfalfa hay as they are calcium- and protein-rich for adult rabbits. Try to supply fresh green leafy vegetables. Feed a minimum of one cup of vegetables per 4 pounds of body weight daily. Try basil, parsley, beet greens, broccoli leaves, brussel sprouts, carrots and carrot tops, endive, green peppers, parsley, romaine lettuce, kale, raspberry leaves, wheat grass, squash, raddichio and dandelion leaves. Make available plenty of water too.
