Cages should be made comfy, pleasant and entertaining

Which cages are ideal for rabbits? You must know this at the very beginning or else the wrong selection may become too dangerous. What makes me say this? The only reason is that it is often found that rabbit owners select cages made with wire floors. Is this good for your rabbit? Well, it is not only dangerous but may result into further problems. Let me explain vividly.

Cages with wire floors are not appropriate for rabbits. In short, it is not suitable for them since rabbits are hard on their feet (due to the absence of pads like cats or dogs). However, even if you select such a cage, you have to make available a resting board or rug for her to sit on. This is of utmost importance otherwise she will be found to sit on the litter box only. This is not at all desirable.

What is the best solution then? Why don’t you settle on cages with slatted plastic floors or with solid floors? They are found to be more comfy and also easy to sit and take rest. In that case the litter box will be used for pee-peeing only and there will be no mess hence. Now let’s talk of the ideal size of the cage. Go for the bigger ones only and it should not be less than thrice of the rabbit. Keep in mind that she must get the space to roam freely or hang around depending on her own will.

You can also arrange a two-storey "condo" but the floor should be connected by a ramp. Besides it is necessary to train her properly, especially how to use the litter box. Keep it at one side of the cage always and make her conscious to use it for bathroom purpose.

There is also the need of entertainment. Make the nest pleasant and she will enjoy being there, even when the cage door is open! Rabbits like to chew always and this is also an entertainment. You can solve this problem by supplying different forms of boxes, baskets, brooms, sticks, magazines and others.

Have a consultation with any rabbit owner for betterment.

Have the rabbit cage at reasonable rate

It’s only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches. I am saying this since only a true searcher knows how difficult it is to get hold of a rabbit cage. If you are also in this sphere, let me tell you something. The concept of rabbit cage appears to many as funny but it is not in reality. On the other hand, you may have to toil much in order to have one for your bunny. Well, though it is tough, you can get it through online or the World Wide Web. However, there is the need of a little research and navigation and if you can do this with caution, you can surely emerge triumphant.

What should you do at the outset? Remember that space is the main criteria and you are the best person to know of the requisite space for your bunny and also how much you can expend. Be aware the larger you go the heftier the price tag! You can come across several online pet stores but please allow me to say, they are costly. In that case a local pet score with proficiency in selling rabbit cages might be the better choice.

There are also many for whom money is never a problem. They are the fittest persons to traverse the world of Internet. Nowdays online shopping has become quite trivial and no longer ignites the passion of a shopper. A large number of online shops (almost all) offer shipping all across the world and that makes the transaction quite easy. Without doubt I can say, if you consider the cost of fuel throughout the entire world and the high rising insurance costs, online shopping seem to be more reasonable.

Try to make your own research always and never jump at the very first product. If you do the reverse, you may turn out to be the best loser in the transaction. Rabbit cages are simply the best for your little pets, even if you are not putting a rabbit inside of it at every time. So always be patient and have the best deal at a reasonable rate.

I agree with all you say, except for the magazines. I've known more than one rabbit who got blocked and died from eating magazine pages..the glossy kind in most magazines. Newspaper is a better choice.
As for size, Definitely the most important factor. It's easy to buy a 'big' cage when you bring home a baby bunny only to find that 2 months down the road he can hardly stretch out in it. Make sure you ask the breeder to show you the adult parents and give you an estimate on the adult size of the bunny. If the breeder is not available ie. pet store purchase, then make sure they know the breed of the bunnies they are selling. Most pet store employees don't know the difference between a Holland Lop and a French lop, but when they grow up the latter will be up to 15 lbs and huge, while the Holland is only up to 4 lbs and dwarf sized. Giant breeds such as French lop, English lop, Flemish Giants will do better in an enclosed pen than a cage. It is hard to find a cage at a pet store made to fit these large rabbits. I have always made my own cages so they can be a big and luxurious as I want. Building a cage is not difficult and usually runs less money than purchasing one from a store or online. There are many wonderful sites online that provide instructions and videos on how to build cages, hutches, and multilevel condos.
